The Research Society of students, postgraduates and young scholars (RSSPYS) and its governing body, the Council of young scholars were created in 2005 according to the Decree of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine of 05.06.97 # 1/9 - 216 "On measures aimed at the improvement of students research as an integral part of academic activity, at the enhancement of involvement with talented scientific youths" and to the Decree of the President of Ukraine of 09.04.02 # 315 "On additional measures aimed at support of young researchers" on the basis of the Research Society of university students.
The focuses of activities of RSSPYS are: involvement of young scholars into research; cooperation organizing and information sharing with RSSPYS of Ukrainian and foreign higher educational institutions; assistance in organizing of young scholars' cooperation in science and technology with local enterprises. The major forms of activities are: carrying out research thematic information workshops, applied research conferences, international competitive tenders, academic competitions, etc.
At the beginning of each academic year a general RSSPYS meeting is held in KrNU, when the Council of young scholars is elected and the plan of action and measures aimed at research activity intensification within the program "Students' research" are enacted. In October the first-year students forum is arranged, when representatives of scientific schools share the best practices of research activities priority and potential.
Within the reporting period Docent Maksym Kohdas and Candidate of Technical Sciences, Docent Vitaliy Nayda won the Ukrainian Presidential Annual Award for young scholars for research paper "Gas sensors based on semiconductor porous layers" (Decree of the President of Ukraine # 595/2020 of 13.12.2020).
The past year has shown that our University is widely regarded as one of the most reputable national scientific centers, seeing that Candidate of Technical Sciences, Docent Svitlana Koval and Candidate of Economic Sciences, Docent Kateryna Pryakhina got scholarship for young scholars from the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine (Decree of Presidium of Committee on National Awards in science and engineering of 06 November 2020 # 6, Annexe 2).

The National Competitive Tender of Students' Research Papers (NCTSRP) is held every year pursuant to the Decree of the President of Ukraine. The year 2021 testified that our University is rightfully considered to be among the most prestigious scholarly venues of Ukraine seeing that 76 students' research papers and 83 students won round II of the Tender.

This Tender has been organized in cooperation with prestigious international educational institutions: Matej Bell University (Slovakia), Institute of Technology and Business (Czech Republic), College of European and Regional Studies (Czech Republic), Baranavichy State University (Republic of Belarus), L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University (Kazakhstan), Karaganda State Industrial University (Kazakhstan), Information Systems Management Institute ISMA (Latvia), Alytaus Kolegija University of Applied Sciences (Lithuania), Lublin University of Technology (Poland), Wroclaw University of Economics (Poland).

The XXVIII Young scholars' and specialists' International Research-to-Practice Conference "Current problems of society functional" (Registration certificate # 693 of 06.011.2020 of Ukrainian Institute of Scientific and Technical Expertise and Information) was held traditionally on 26-27 of April 2021. 256 conference papers including 76 papers from 31 foreign higher educational institutions (Canada, Czech Republic, China, Slovakia, Kazakhstan, Poland, USA and other) have been provided for the Conference. 268 participants have been registered for the Conference plenary meeting. The collection of research papers has been published as a result of the Conference.
Generally, our young scholars have participated in 99 conferences. In the course of the academic year our students coauthored with University's scientists have prepared and published 500 research papers and conference abstracts including more than 120 on their own.
All the events are covered at the University site and in the media.
Our University cooperates with Kremenchuk Department of education. The city meetings of Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and of the Department of Education and Science of Poltava Regional State Administration are hold annually on the University basis.
