Second year in a row Kremenchuk Mykhailo Ostrohradskyi National University (KrNU) included in the QS TOP 200 Universities in Emerging Europe and Central Asia (EECA). This ranking is presented by QS Quacquarelli Symonds Corporation, which is one of the leading global providers of specialist higher education and careers information and solutions. This ranking first came to life in 2014, and was compiled to fulfill the necessary purpose of recognizing the rapidly developing academic excellence in the region. Emerging Europe and Central Asia are both dynamic regions with similar priorities driving development: regions where a significant number of countries place a very high priority on strengthening and internationalizing their higher education systems and research frameworks. Although many EECA institutions already feature in global university league tables, this ranking not only provides an additional opportunity to celebrate region-specific successes, but also puts a high number of new, strong institutions on the map of international rankings for the first time.

The Methodology for the QS University Rankings: EECA differs from the global ranking, using different indicators and changing the weighting of existing indicators. Academic Reputation is based on the responses to a survey distributed worldwide academics from a number of different sources.

Employer Reputation is based on the responses to a survey distributed worldwide employers to ask their opinion on the quality of graduates. Faculty Student Ratio is comparable and available indicator that has been identified to address the stated objective of evaluating teaching quality, and it is calculated through the following numbers: Full Time Equivalent (FTE) students and Full Time Equivalent (FTE) faculty.

Papers per Faculty from Scopus − the research excellence element, that exist in all of QS regional rankings, is based on data from Scopus, the world’s largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed academic literature. Web Impact from Webometrics looks at the effectiveness of institutions projection online. Citations per Paper focuses on the performance of the papers an institution produces that are actually indexed in Scopus – ignoring efforts undertaken resulting in publication in local language journals that may not be covered by Scopus.

Proportion of Staff with PhD is based on a simple proportion of each institution that holds a PhD or equivalent terminal degree. Proportion of International Faculty is simply based on the proportion of faculty members that are international. Proportion of International Student similar in nature to the International Faculty Index, the International Students Index is based on the proportion of students that are international.
