Summer practical trainings of our students in Germany!
07.07.09 On the 16th – the 28th of June 2009 15 students of Kremenchuk Mykhaylo Ostrogradskyi State Polytechnic University (KSPU) were visiting Technical University of Braunschweig (Germany). This trip was funded through German Academic Exchange Service scholarship (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst - DAAD) that we had been trying to win for a few years. And, finally, the latest attempt is appeared to be successful.
DAAD scholarship gives a great opportunity to the 2nd-5th year students of the same faculty to take a trip to Germany under the direction of their teachers from Ukrainian university and have their practical trainings at one of the German universities.
During their practical trainings students attended lectures on engineering mechanics, modeling mechatronic systems, and acoustics. They had a possibility to examine up to date laboratories of the Institute of Dynamics and Vibrations, Institute of Industrial Production and some other institutes of TU Braunschweig; students also visited a language center. Scholarship holders were invited to attend Doors Open Day of TU Braunschweig that was a special event where all faculties were presenting their achievements, designed models and scientific and education innovations. TU Braunschweig organized various exhibitions, contests and concerts which were open for all citizens. It should be mentioned that organization of the events for Doors Open Day had been done for the most part by the students and they showed a great enthusiasm while exhibiting all those different models designed by them.
One of the events of Doors Open Day was “MacGyver” contest held for the fifth time.
According to the contest conditions students were to demonstrate devices which had to perform a task put in advance.
This year’s task was to work out a device that would set a table. Though our students had had only a few days to design and assemble these devices they had showed two models one of which won a prize!
Students of KSPU made some very interesting and informative tours:
– To Volkswagen (Wolfsburg) where they got an opportunity to get acquainted with the full production cycle of such car models as Golf, Touran, Tiguan which was extremely important for students of Automobile faculty.
– To Physikalish-Technishe Bundesanstaltt (PTB) – National Institute of Metrology dealing with measuring the time. PTB also is in charge of all time servers applied to allocate the time in Internet and deals with the machines used to count the votes for German and European elections.
– To DLR (German Aerospace Center) that is German state scientific and research center in the field of aeronautics and space. Its large-scale researches and technical elaborations in the field of aeronautics, space, transportation and energy are integrated in the governmental and international joint enterprises. Some students had a possibility to test modern elaborations of this center…. but it is a secret!
– To Phaeno (Wolfsburg) that is something in between the theme park, technical museum and laboratory. Phaeno has got 250 experimental stations (210 scientific and 40 art ones). This center allows you to carry out your own various researches, learn more about scientific phenomena and engineering principles.
During their staying in Germany students of Kremenchuk Mykhaylo Ostrogradskyi State Polytechnic University had a chance not only to raise their proficiency level, gain new knowledge and improve German but also learn more about the history and the present of the city Braunschweig get acquainted with life of youth in Germany.
The delegation of Kremenchuk Mykhaylo Ostrogradskyi State Polytechnic University was welcomed cordially to Braunschweig. And now we would like to express our thanks to Director of Dynamics and Vibrations Institute, TU Braunschweig prof. Dr. G. Ostermeyer and co-worker of the institute Î. Goloborodko who had contributed a lot to the preparing and carrying out summer practical trainings of our students in Germany.
During students’ practical trainings Rector of Kremenchuk Mykhaylo Ostrogradskyi State Polytechnic University Mykhaylo Zagirnyak paid an official visit to Braunschweig on the invitation of the Director of Dynamics and Vibrations Institute, TU Braunschweig prof Dr. G. Ostermeyer. While staying in Germany Mykhaylo Zagirnyak discussed the item about the development of cooperation between our institutions with professors, experts and with the President of TU Braunschweig Jürgen Hesselbach.
We believe summer practical trainings in Technical University of Braunschweig (Germany) will become a new staging point in the development of our cooperation with this institution and start a good tradition for students of Kremenchuk Mykhaylo Ostrogradskyi State Polytechnic University.
