A visit of KrNU rector to the University of Ljubljana
31.05.19 Prof. M.V. Zagirnyak, rector of Kremenchuk Mykhailo Ostrohradskyi National University visited the Ljubljana University (Ljubljana, Slovenia) from May 20, 2019 till May 24, 2019 within the framework of the acting Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility Program.
The program of Prof. M.V.Zagirnyak’s visit included a number of research, organizational and educational events (a research work in the calculation of electric machine parameters, participation in the celebration of the centenary of the foundation of Electrical Engineering Department, delivering lectures in English, taking part in workshops, scientific consultations, official meetings with participation of the leading scientists and administration of the Ljubljana University).
Prof. M.V.Zagirnyak’s lectures concerned the theoretical aspects of modeling the electric field distribution in the air gap of induction electric machines, the issues of the calculation of their parameters and diagnostics, the problems of electric machine aging. The audience (lecturers, Ph.D. students, undergraduates of the Electrical Engineering Department of the Ljubljana University) had an opportunity to discuss special problems and communicate with the professor.
During the visit, KrNU rector had official meetings with the President of the National Assembly (the parliament) of Slovenia Mr. Dejan Gidan, the President of the Slovenia Academy of Sciences and Arts, professor of robotics at the Electrical Engineering Department of the Ljubljana University Prof. Dr. Tadej Bajd, the Dean of the Electrical Engineering Department Prof. Dr. Gregor Dolinar.
Besides, Prof. M.V. Zagirnyak attended the electric machine laboratory at the Mechatronics Department of the Ljubljana University where Ihor Reva, a Ph.D. student of the Department of Electricity Consumption Systems and Energy Management, is taking a five-month training course within the framework of the Erasmus+ program under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Damijan Miljavec. During the meeting Prof. Dr. D. Miljavec said that he was satisfied with the results of the Kremenchuk Ph.D. student’s training and mentioned that KrNU rector’s visit would encourage the further development of the long-term joint scientific cooperation of the Ukrainian and Slovenian colleagues in the field of the improvement and creation of modern electric machines.
The above mentioned events became the realization of the third phase of the Erasmus+ Academic Exchange Program. The first phase of Erasmus+ started in February 2017 when Roman Manko, a Ph.D. student of the Department of the Automatic Control Systems and Electric Drive, was sent to the Ljubljana University, having been chosen by KrNU competition board. He successfully studied at the Electrical Engineering Department of the partner higher educational institution during one term. The second phase of Erasmus+ Academic Exchanges took place in autumn 2017 within the framework of two visits to KrNU of the representative of the Ljubljana University (Slovenia) a leading specialist in the field of modern electric machine design Prof. Damijan Miljavec.
The visit resulted in the prolongation of the Agreement of Cooperation between the KrNU Institute of Electromechanics, Energy Saving and Control Systems and the Electrical Engineering Department of the Ljubljana University. Besides, the scientists of Kremenchuk are looking forward to meeting a lecturer from the Ljubljana University in autumn 2019 within the framework of Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility Program.
