Presentation of programs administered by IREX
On the 13th of October 2009 a presentation of the programs of th Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the United States Department of State took place in Kremenchuk Mykhaylo Ostrogradskyi State University. This presentation was hold by IREX/Ukraine Director/Education Programs Manager Joseph Bednarek
There were two programs which were presented:
1) The Edmund S. Muskie Graduate Fellowship Program, a program of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the United States Department of State, provides opportunities for Master’s level study in the United States for citizens of Ukraine in the fields of:
• Business Administration,
• Public Policy,
• Public Administration.
2) The Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (UGRAD) is a program of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State, and administered by IREX (International Research & Exchanges Board).
UGRAD provides opportunities for current first-, second-, and third- year undergraduate students from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan to spend one academic year of non-degree study in a U.S. university or community college.

• Criminal law
• Political sciences
• Other fields
Joseph Bednarek also gave students practical advice associated with completing applications as well as general information about the programs.
