Training programs and internships for students and teachers abroad. Presentation of educational opportunities
International Relations Department and EuroClub of Kremenchuk Mykhaylo Ostrogradskiy State University (KSU) supported by the European Union office in Ukraine presented educational opportunities for students and faculty to participate in exchange programs, internships and researches abroad.
For students, teachers and graduates wishing to study in foreign universities or to undergo trainings in academic institutions of the EU February 15, 2010 there was a presentation of programs and educational opportunities abroad.
Head of the International Relations Department of Kremenchuk Mykhaylo Ostrogradskiy State University Andrii Markevych and specialist of the Department Liudmyla Kachala presented the audience educational, training and work programs in the United States and Germany. Among other educational and research programs Fulbright academic exchange programs were mentioned as well. Also attention was focused on individual research programs, doctoral and post-doctoral scholarships of German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the Council of the International Research and Exchanges Board (IREX). We are reminding you that in June 2009 15 students of KSU paid a visit to Technical University of Braunschweig (Germany). This trip was funded by the grant Studienpraktika of German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The speakers told about such cultural exchange programs as Work and Travel USA and Camp America, in which students of our university have been participating for several years.
Iryna Soloshych, Associate Professor of the Department of Ecology, responsible for the organization of the Association of Young Scientists, spoke about recently signed international Agreement on cooperation between Kremenchuk State University and the University of Matej Bel (Banska Bystrica, Slovakia). This allowed to expand cooperation between two universities in particular Ukrainian teachers and students of Natural Faculty passed their summer trainings in Slovakia at the Faculty of Natural Science of Matej Bel University. Associate Professor highlighted the importance of Great Agreement, which provides possibilities for student exchange, participation in conferences and then she called students to be more active and do their academic work.
Senior lecturer of Social and Political Sciences and coordinator of the EuroClub Oleg Ovcharenko told about the possibility of cooperation with Polish universities and presented some of the major Polish educational programs involving our teachers and students. Among them were: Study Tours To Poland, Center for Eastern European Studies of Warsaw University, the Collegium program in Eastern Europe from Wroclaw, and others. Students were given useful information about the conditions of internship, financial support, necessary travel documents.
Special attention was paid by speakers to educational programs of the European Union, in which Ukrainian students and teachers are eligible participate particularly in TEMPUS, Erasmus Mundus, Jean Monnet program, and others. Participants were also presented some european newsletters, and asked to see additional brochures, which describe in details the conditions for participation in each program. Booklets and literature were specifically provided by the Delegation of the European Union in Ukraine for this event .
The main purpose of the presentation was to inform students and teachers of the international educational programs, funds, scholarships,language schools, training opportunities and internships abroad, to show young people that going abroad for experience exchange or training is unlikely to be so hard. All interested were given the addresses of organizations, which can answer their questions and additional information on current programs and got invitations to cooperate with the Department of International Relations and EuroClub.
