Visit of delegation from KNU to Belarus on the occasion of 100 anniversary of Vitebsk P.M. Masherov State University.

From 24 to 28 November 2010 in the framework of existing cooperation agreement, the delegation of Kremenchuk Mykhailo Ostrohradskyi National University (KNU) paid a working visit to Vitebsk P. M. Masherov State University. a (VSU) (Belarus) and took part in the celebration of 100 anniversary of its founding. The delegation included Head of International Relations Department Andrii Markevych, and Associated professor of Geodesy, Organization of the Land Use and Cadastre department Nadiia Galchenko.

During the visit the delegation KNU congratulated the Rector of VSU A. P. Solodkov on a truly significant event, and gave greetings from the Rector of KNU M. V. Zarirnyak. Also during the meeting with A. P Solodkov there were the presentation of Kremenchuk Mykhailo Ostrohradskyi National University and discussion of the ways of further cooperation between universities. In addition, the delegation took part in the extended meeting of the Academic Council on the occasion of 100 anniversary of Vitebsk P.M. Masherov State University, where A.G. Markevych made a welcoming speech and congratulations.

In addition to participation in the formal program of celebrating 100 years since the founding of VSU, the delegation from KNU held a series of meetings in order to intensify and enhance cooperation between universities. Meetings were held with the Dean of the Biological Faculty V.A. Kuzmenko, with the head of the Botany Department L.M. Merzhvinskyi, head of Geography Department M.I. Bobrik, Chair of Applied Mathematics Department L.V. Markova, deputy director of the Belarusian Republican Foundation for Basic Research, Doctor of Science, V.I. Prokoshin VI, Dean of the Faculty for Postgraduate E.S. Bobrova.

In Vitebsk State University Observatory

It should be noted that education, particularly higher education in Belarus has a very good support from the government. Evidence of this is the attention that was paid by state and local authorities for the anniversary of VSU. Thus, the Minister of Education of Belarus, A. M. Radkov, personally visiting the Vitebsk university with congratulations and gave VSU two fully equipped computer rooms for 15 persons each one. Executive Committee Chairman O.M. Kosynets allocated 5 billion br. for University stadium construction and 10 billion br. to build a new dormitory that amount is about $ 5000000. It has even known address, where will be located this hostel. In addition, O.M. Kosynets gave VSU fully equipped computer room for 30 persons with a direct connection to the National Library of Belarus.


Updated VSU Museum of History


The first entry in the guestbook of updated VSU Museum of History has been made by the delegation from Kremenchuk Mykhailo Ostrohradskyi National University

The result of these meetings was an agreement on exchange of teaching practices. Belarusian colleagues invited representatives of KNU to participate in the international scientific conference "Ecosystems of swamps and lakes north of Belarus and adjacent territories", and were invited to participate in international scientific conference Vernadsky Ideas and scientific-practical problems of sustainable development. There were conducted negotiations dealing with students exchange.
