The meeting, devoted to training of students and PhD students, researchers and teaching staff at leading universities abroad

On January 19, 2012 Andrii Markevych, Head of International Relations Department of Kremenchuk Mykhailo Ostrohradskyi National University, attended the meeting, devoted to training of students and PhD students, researchers and teaching staff at leading universities and research institutions abroad in 2012. The meeting was organized at the Ministry of Education, Science, Youth and Sports of Ukraine, headed by Yevhen Sulima, First Deputy Minister.
There were invited rectors and heads of International Departments of the leading universities of Ukraine, responsible for international activity. Also there were invited the representatives of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine (Susan Cleary, Attaché for Cultural Affairs, Arthur Evans, Deputy Attaché for Cultural Affairs, Vira Ternovska, an expert on education) and the representatives of France Embassy in Ukraine (Guillaume Kaleen, Attaché for university education and science and Oksana Lando, coordinator of scholarships of the French Embassy).

First Deputy Minister informed the participants that in 2011 there were carried out the selections of students, PhD students and teaching staff for study at leading universities abroad. In general, the Competition Commission received 700 proposals from 68 universities. Having considered all the proposals, the Competition Commission recommended to send 277 candidates for study in 33 leading foreign universities.
Yevhen Sulima said that there is extremely low activity of universities in establishing not only contractual - formal but also partnerships relations with foreign universities. In 2011, 14 institutions didn`t send any application of study for their students, PhD students and teaching staff.

Pleased to note that our university is one of the leading universities according to the number of persons involved in this Ministry program.
During the meeting there was paid much attention to the International Departments of universities. They were identified as information centers during the participation in training program, granted by the Ministry.
