Symposium on Applied Electrodynamics

The IV Symposium on Applied Electrodynamics (SAEM - 12) was organized in Sopron (Hungary) on June 3-6, 2012. This Symposium continues the tradition of joint conferences, organized in previous years in Slovenia, Poland and Macedonia. However, the Symposium is open for representatives of other countries. Therefore, its members are academics from Hungary, Japan, Finland, Turkey, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia and Ukraine. Such representation makes the forum more attractive to a growing number of researchers and scientists around the world.

Permanent member of the symposium is Professor Mykhaylo Zagirnyak, Rector of Kremenchuk Mykhailo Ostrohradskyi National University. He also is the member of the Polish Society of Electromagnetism Applying. This Society has over 20 years history.

The IV Symposium had six sections, such as: numerical methods of electrodynamics; antenna and radio wave propagation; electric drives and motors; phenomena hysteresis; applied electrodynamics in electrotechniques; bioelektromagnetism and electromagnetic danger. There were made over 90 presentations of diverse articles in these sections. Mykhaylo Zagirnyak presented three articles such as: "Analysis of the induction motor magnetic field for diagnostics of rotor bar damages" (co-author Zh. Romashyhina, A. Kalinov); "Concerning the analysis of wire antenna field" (co-author Y. Branspiz, Miklos Kutsman); "Control system for pumping station power condition" (co-author T. Korenkova, Y. Aleksieieva). All these articles are among 30 recommended and will be published in the journal "Electric Review," which is included in all worlds` databases. This factor, according to the explanation of Mykhaylo Zagirnyak, encourages him to participate in the Symposium, because the recommendation for publication is one of the real ways to quote his articles by other scientists worldwide. However, to achieve this result, each subject must be fully completed, have the actual direction and be put into production or practice.

Only in 2011 Kremenchuk Mykhailo Ostrohradskyi National University had eight such articles, included in the international databases. This allowed the university to become one of the best educational institutions according to the determination of various ratings of universities in Ukraine and in the world.
