Internship of Associated Professor Anastasiia Symonova and PhD student Viktoriia Lemizhanska in Belgium

University of Mons is one of the biggest universities in Belgium established on the 1st of January 2009 as a result of consolidating University Mons-Eno and Engineering Faculty of Mons. Engineering Faculty of Mons (FPMs) is one of the leading higher educational establishments in Belgium. It is the oldest higher educational establishment in Mons and one of the first ingineering schools in the country. FPMs trains applied disciplines, owns resources of 25 laboratories and 4 scientific and research centres (Multitel, Materia Nova, Inism, Cetic) and is a member of Academie Wallonie Bruxelles.

FPMs takes an active part in the realization of European programs on general education: Erasmus, Tempus, Tasis. The faculty cooperates with more than 50 countries on 5 continents.

Anastasiia Symonova does her intership at the Department of Mechanics the main research directions of which is reliability and servicing industrial equipment, composites, high-speed micromilling, modular robotics and metrology. Viktoriia Lemizhanska does her internship at the Department of mining which investigates methods of exploiting soils and mineral wealth; boring and excavations; rock mechanics; physical basis of machining mineral materials; characteristics of petrophysics and developing material fields; physical processes of machining of hard waste products; physical processes and investigating treatment of polluted soils.

The program participants coordinated their plans and scientific areas of internship at University of Mons with the executive persons from the hosting side. There was organized the department meeting. The interns prepared presentation about educational system in Ukraine and Kremenchuk Mykhaylo Ostrohradskyi National University. They explained scientific developments and some experimental researches made by our intern on the following themes: Technology of manufacturing products from nano- and submicrocrystal metals and alloys and Influence of the surface-active agents on the changing of strength characteristics when loaded impulsively. So the prior trends of fruitful cooperation were chosen.
