INTERNATIONAL ACTIVITY

      Kremenchuk Mykhailo Ostrohradskyi National University provides broad relationships with numerous scientific, educational, industrial establishments of different foreign countries. In the framework of international cooperation our university organizes and conducts conferences, summer schools, teachers and students exchange, participation in international programs, cooperation in scientific and educational activities, training of foreign students and PhD students.

  In 1998 Kremenchuk filiation of Kharkiv State Polytechnic University concluded the first Agreement of cooperation with the University of Applied Sciences in Mittweida (Hochschule Mittweida). The main purpose of the Agreement was scientific and cultural exchange. In 2000, under this agreement, the best students of our university visited the University of Mittweida (Germany). Over the next years of the International Department existence there were signed contracts with universities of Ecuador, Canada, Poland, and also an Agreement with the U.S. Peace Corps as to the technical assistance, in the framework of the Economic Development Project.

In September 2007, Rector Prof. M.V. Zahirnyak signed in Bologna (Italy) Magna Charta Universitatum. The strategic tasks of the university, at the present stage, are to implement the principles and ideas of the Bologna declaration, to join the International education standards, to provide competitiveness of our graduates and recognition of our higher education documents abroad.

In October 2007 (Wroclaw, Poland) our university became the member of European University Association (European University Association, Brussels, Belgium).
On April 19-20, 2007 Kremenchuk Mykhailo Ostrohradskyi State University joined Euroasian Universities Association as to the Decision of 10th Congress of this Association in Moscow (Russia).
At the Congress of Black Sea Universities Network "Higher Education Forum" (April 5-8, 2008, Kyiv) Kremenchuk Mykhailo Ostrohradskyi State University became a member of this international organization.
In September 2009 the Kremenchuk Mykhailo Ostrohradskyi State University joined International Association of Universities (IAU).


  These events had promoted the further international activities of our university. There were signed contracts with 27 educational establishments in the following countries: Algeria, Belarus, Moldova, Germany, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, USA, Hungary, Czech Republic, Morocco, Bulgaria and Canada.

  Kremenchuk Mykhailo Ostrohradskyi State University had 2-years joint research project with the University of Ljubljana (Slovenia): "Engine with cross-flow of soft magnetic composite material". This project was funded by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and Ministry of Science and Technology of Slovenia.

  The University is actively cooperating with Fulbright academic exchange program (German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)). In the framework of this program, American professor Edmund Hekt, specialist in the field of management, had been lecturing in our university during the spring semester of 2008-2009 educational year. In June 2009, students of our university had 2 trips abroad for practice. Nine students-environmentalists had ten-day practice at the Matej Bel University (Slovak Republic). Another group of 15 students (of technical specialties) had won DAAD scholarship and had two-week practice at the Technical University of Braunschweig (Germany).

  In 2009 and 2010, four employees of the University have been trained under the "Open World" Program: "Education". This Program is founded by the Leadership Centre "Open World" in collaboration with the American Councils of International Education: ACTR / ACCELS (American Councils).

  The main perspective directions of international collaboration are:
- providing the exchange of knowledge through the researchers and students exchange;
- cooperation with the European Union institutions, with the purpose to participate in projects of Higher education;
- participation in international organizations, scientific and educational associations, with the purpose of academic, student, cultural and scientific exchange.
