Improvement of professional skills: young researchers of KrNU received certificates from the International Interdisciplinary Winter School (Poland)

Within the framework of the academic mobility program and for the purpose of improving their qualifications, Alyona Nikitina, associate professor of the Department of Automation and Information Systems, and Viktoriya Nozhenko, associate professor of the Department of Electrical Engineering, completed an internship at the International Interdisciplinary Winter School “Smart Public Space in Prosument Energy Transition” and received certificates of successful completion of the training course. The advanced training program took place at the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice (Poland) from February 1 to February 10, 2023.

The advanced training was initiated in order to increase the interest of the event participants in an interdisciplinary approach to the formation of a smart public space in the process of the energy transition. According to the organizers, it is the application of the mentioned approach that makes it possible to become an effective part of the modern energy transformation.


The program of advanced training was very intensive. Its participants listened to a course of lectures and attended training covering the following areas: energy transition; superconducting materials; the concept of public space; expert evaluation of the materials; optoelectronics; means of protection; surface modifications; the concept of life cycle; planning experiments; alkaline materials and geopolymers; digital technology of "twins"; smart materials; modern cost effective materials.


The lecturers of the Silesian University of Technology demonstrated the latest scientific developments to the participants and gave them the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the modern educational and scientific laboratories of the university.


A meeting with the head of the international center of the Silesian University of Technology dr. Grzegorz Kłapyta was organized for the participants of the event. The students of the Winter School also visited the company Nexteer Automotive, which is a world leader in the production of steering and transmission systems. According to the results of training at the International Interdisciplinary Winter School “Smart Public Space in Prosument Energy Transition”, associate professors Alyona Nikitina and Victoria Nozhenko received certificates.
