40 students of privileged categories studying at Kremenchug National University received 40 coats, which were handed over to them by the British partners of KrNU from the University of Leicester (UoL).

The humanitarian cargo from Britain was personified, so the university decided to gather students and personally hand over his coat to everyone. The event took place on June 28, in the conference hall of KrNU. The director of the Center for International Activities (CIA) of KrNU Associate Professor Andrii Gladyr was the moderator of event.

The students were greeted by the Rector of KrNU, Professor Mykhaylo Zagirnyak. He talked about the fruitful cooperation between Kremenchuk National University and the University of Leicester and explained the academic mobility program, under which KrNU students have been studying at the University of Leicester for two last years. The rector emphasized that this opportunity can be used by anyone with the perseverance and motivation to learn English. He urged students to make more vigorous use of the possibilities for self-improvement provided by the UoL.

After completing the official part, the students received their coats.

For this to happen, long and painstaking work was carried out. The Center for International Activities of KrNU was engaged in solving issues related to the formation, delivery and customs clearance of British cargo. When the British colleagues declared their desire to donate outerwear for students of privileged categories, the CMD compiled lists of beneficiaries, as well as noted the height and size of each recipient. And already according to these tables, the British selected clothes.

This shipment was prepared for shipment at the University of Leicester before the New Year, the students were supposed to receive the jackets in winter, but this was prevented by problems with customs clearance in Ukraine.

In order for the humanitarian cargo from Great Britain to arrive at the university, the rector and specialists of KrNU had to carry out painstaking preparatory work that lasted almost a year. In order to receive humanitarian goods without hindrance, the university had to obtain the official status of a recipient of humanitarian aid in Ukraine. This status exempts the entity from paying customs duties, which in certain cases can amount to a third of the value of the cargo. The Center of International Activities of KrNU took care of solving the mentioned problem.

In the end, the problem was solved, an automated humanitarian aid registration system was put into operation in the country, and Kremenchuk National University obtained the official status of a recipient of humanitarian aid in Ukraine. On June 11, a British humanitarian cargo arrived in Kremenchuk. Its total weight was 1355 kilograms. In addition to jackets, the university received powerful computers and office furniture.
The staff of the Kremenchuk National University expresses its sincere gratitude to colleagues from the University of Leicester for the fruitful cooperation, mutual understanding, support and assistance provided during the war waged by the Russian invaders against Ukraine!
